About the Winsford 10k route

There have been a few small tweeks to the route over the years but it is largely unchanged. Starting with a little out and back within the salt mine, ensuring a precise 10k course, runners then exit the mine directly opposite the start of Whitegate Way. A slight climb along the old railway takes us to marshal point 2, where you'll turn left onto School Road. Once you've passed Catsclough House you'll arrive at Grange Road, making a right turn and heading to Whitegate Village. You'll cross Mill Lane and head up the short climb of Sutton Field before turning right onto Vale Royal Drive and passing the Abbey. You'll descend, through the trees to the River Weaver. You'll cross the river at Vale Royal Locks and return to the salt mine via the river path and Newbridge Locks.
